Burton Mesa Public Safety Center/Lompoc Fire Sheriff

The County of Santa Barbara hired RRM Design Group to provide complete design and contract administration services for a new 12,500 sf joint-use fire/sheriff station for the Santa Barbara County Fire and Sheriff Departments. RRM went through an extensive programming phase with the County to ensure the new facility would meet the space needs for each department while staying within budget. The result is a building design that efficiently integrates the different space, technology, and operational needs of each department, while providing opportunities for shared spaces such as the workout room and conference room. Situated adjacent to the Burton Mesa Nature Preserve, the project was designed to respect the surrounding terrain in its massing, materials, and landscape.
