Mainstreet Architects + Planners Has Joined the RRM Design Group team!
RRM Design Group (RRM) is pleased to announce that Ventura design firm, Mainstreet Architects + Planning (MAP), will be joining forces with RRM. MAP is an award-winning architecture and urban planning firm that has a diverse range of commercial, civic, institutional, and residential projects with a notable portfolio of affordable and multifamily housing projects.
The alignment of cultures between each firm including common values, vision, and design philosophy are what drew the two companies together. Some of these similarities include dedication to community giving, commitment to client service, and loyalty to their staff by providing work environments that encourage curiosity, longevity, equality, and creativity. As an 100% employee-owned firm (ESOP), RRM will provide ownership opportunities for all MAP employees and will allow MAP a perpetuation of the work they have been doing for the past 38 years.
The joining of these two firms will also present significant benefits for current and future clients. In addition to expanded architecture and planning capabilities, MAP clients will gain immediate access to RRM’s multidiscipline services of landscape architecture, surveying, civil engineering, and structural engineering via RRM’s state-wide practice. RRM will reinforce its commitment to its rapidly growing client base in the Ventura area and build on the housing, commercial, and civic portfolio that MAP has developed.

MEET RRM’s New Ventura Principals: NICK AND DEB
Before joining RRM Design Group, Nicholas (Nick) Deitch and Deborah (Deb) Guthrie dedicated a combined 71 years of service at Mainstreet Architects and Planners. One of the most obvious traits that both share is a strong emotional connection to Ventura. Both plan on staying in the Ventura area post-merger to carry on helping to provide solutions for the city’s continuing growth. One of the reasons why they have made such a successful team becomes clear within minutes of meeting them: their strengths complement each other quite well. Nick is the definition of a “people person,” and will happily engage in conversations about social issues and housing changes for hours. Deb is a skilled organizer who keeps projects and staff on track behind-the-scenes with careful planning and persistence. Both have worked together to create a welcoming culture at the Ventura office.
Nicholas Deitch, R.A.
Nick has over thirty-five years of experience in the profession, with a wide variety of public and private projects, including community planning, historic restoration, adaptive re-use, and mixed-use residential in-fill. Nick has been a strong proponent for thoughtful planning, preservation, and revitalization of communities throughout Ventura County and California. Nick often serves as a panelist and speaker at planning and design events, on topics of architecture and urban design. He has served on the faculty at Ventura Community College, teaching courses in Architecture since 1996.

Deborah Guthrie, R.A.
Ms Guthrie has more than thirty years of diverse experience in design, technology and management. Her professional experience includes civic and institutional buildings, commercial and medical projects, historic rehabilitation, multifamily housing, and high end custom residential. One of her outstanding skills and passions is in the development of projects with complex programming, planning and design with a high level of spatial and technological requirements. As a principal in the Ventura office, Deb oversees all facets of service, from pre-design and existing conditions assessments through the preparation of construction documents, and construction administration. Some of her other responsibilities are information technology initiatives and policy, production management and scheduling.
