Oxnard Water Division Advanced Purification Facility

The Advanced Purification Facility is considered the cornerstone of the GREAT (Groundwater Recovery Enhancement and Treatment) program for the City of Oxnard Water Division. The AWPF provides the City with reclaimed water that can be used for landscape and agricultural irrigation, industrial process water, and groundwater recharge. The full build-out phase produces 25 million gallons per day of water for reuse.

The overarching facility design represents cutting-edge process technology, while utilizing energy efficient, sustainable site and design strategies. The project includes a demonstration wetland accessible to the general public which incorporates an adjacent Visitors Center that will provide educational outreach for the GREAT program. The entire facility incorporates numerous “green” features such as recycled building materials, natural ventilation systems to reduce overall energy requirements, permeable paving, water conserving native plant material, and renewable energy photo voltaic solar power.
