It’s rare that we celebrate having one of our projects go unused and then torn down, but we’re happy to pass along this story!

The COVID-19 Alternative Care Site at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo went from design to build in less than a month, with construction complete in April of 2020. However, the anticipated surge of serious coronavirus cases was lower than expected, and local hospitals were able to handle all cases. RRM project manager Mike Scott noted the speed of the project: “Watching the community work together, including agencies from Cal Poly to the County and Fire departments and private design and construction businesses, was a bright light in a dark time. Design to construction took three weeks, which is unheard of. We’re thankful to have been a part of that response, and even more grateful that COVID cases requiring hospitalization were low in the area.
