Sweetwater Summit Campground

RRM Design Group was retained by the San Diego County Department of Parks and Recreation to provide design and engineering services for the 120-acre Sweetwater Regional Park Summit Campground in Bonita. RRM’s innovative design provides easy circulation for RV and park visitors, by employing roundabouts and one-way roads, and implements a consistent Spanish Rancho architectural style throughout the park. RRM chose specific park sites, campgrounds, hiking trails, and support facilities to optimize beautiful views to the ocean, the endless, inland mountain ranges, and the tranquil Sweetwater Regional Park Reservoir. The new park design and layout is sure to increase the number of visitors and also increase revenue for the County’s park operations.
