Sapwi Trails Community Park

Sapwi Trails Community Park is a 145-acre park site owned and managed by the Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD). RRM was retained by CRPD to prepare a concept master plan and construction documents for a largely passive program that provides recreational access while protecting the natural resources and viewshed of the park land. The site is completely surrounded by urban land uses including single-family and high-density housing, school, and city arterial streets. The site is characterized by sloping hillsides and grasslands that drain to the riparian corridor of Lang Creek.

The concept master plan was prepared with input from members of the community and neighbors, as well as some special interest groups. The program includes a neighborhood park, three trailhead locations, picnic areas, a cross country course, a 19-hole disc golf course, multiuse trail system, bicycle terrain course (bike park), and non-motorized glider launching and landing terrace.
