Paso Robles Joint Unified School District Athletic Fields
RRM Design Group designed and engineered the synthetic turf conversion of War Memorial Field – the spiritual home of Paso Robles High School football. The playing surface – which is also striped for soccer – features an organic infill material that eliminates the need for crumb rubber, and subgrade drain system to maximize stormwater management efficiency. All the runoff collected under the field is conveyed to a large bio-swale adjacent to the site. The design also included accessibility improvements to the surrounding circulation routes to address ADA compliance.
All the projects address universal accessibility and include renovating the dated natural turf fields to high performance synthetic turf, applying the latest developments in organic infill. The synthetic turf fields provide competition grade athletic facilities with longevity and significantly less operational demands.
