Gardens on Hope

The Gardens on Hope is an affordable senior housing project designed for very low and low-income seniors. Upon the project’s completion, the housing has helped fulfill a significant need in the community, which previously had a waitlist 452 seniors long. The project includes 89 studio apartments, a one-bedroom manager’s unit, a common dining area, a commercial kitchen, and common indoor gathering areas. Additionally, it provides generous common open space, including a courtyard along South Hope Avenue and a patio seating area on the west side of the building adjacent to Arroyo Burro Creek – this area is directly adjacent to the dining room and will allow the residents to dine outdoors and enjoy the habitat along the creek. The project is setback to allow for Arroyo Burro Creek’s future restoration.
