Azahar Place – LEED Platinum

The 60 affordable rental townhouse-style units in Azahar Place, located in the City of Ventura, are designed in a California Ranch style, with materials and detailing reminiscent of the original rural nature and historic agricultural use of the site.  The New Urbanist influence focused the site design on pedestrians and spontaneous resident interaction achieved by use of generous front patios, wide landscaped parkways to provide for protected pedestrian circulation, and separating the vehicular circulation from the primary pedestrian circulation through the use of alleys. Common amenities include a Community Building and a public park. The LEED Platinum project cost-effectively incorporates criteria from five different green certification programs, as well as a significant solar photovoltaic system.
