Our very own Jolie Wah has been appointed to Vice President of AIA Santa Barbara for the 2022 term. Jolie has become Vice President after serving as the chapter’s Secretary and Treasurer over the past two years. The Board of Directors and associated Executive Committee is elected on an annual basis, during the Annual meeting held in December. This year, Jolie is serving alongside three other women on the executive committee – the first all-female Executive Committee in the chapter’s history.
In her role on the Executive Committee, Jolie helps to oversee the chapter’s bylaws, policies, legal matters, finances, and corporate structure, helping to review any issues or concerns that arise and taking preliminary action before advancing to the larger board of directors group. We are beyond excited for Jolie’s advancement into this role and can’t wait to see her continue to be an advocate for quality architecture and design in the Santa Barbara community. Jolie is an Associate Manager of Architecture in RRM’s Santa Barbara office. She brings over 30 years of architecture experience to the team along with a strong sense of design and enthusiasm for the design process. Jolie has vast experience in design, project management, and construction administration for projects ranging from multi-family housing, to market-rate apartments complexes, to affordable senior apartments. Jolie also has an extensive background in single-family residential work which has formed an attention to detail and a sensitivity to the dynamics and comfort of a living space, all while acknowledging the necessary functionality and client budget.
