Santa Cruz Coastal Rail Trail
RRM Design Group is leading an effort on behalf of the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission to develop a braided trail network with the rail corridor serving as a continuous multi-use trail spine to provide alternative transportation and coastal access along Santa Cruz County’s 40-mile-long coast from Watsonville tot Davenport. Segment 7 Phase 1 is the first completed 1.2-mile phase of the larger trail that runs through the City of Santa Cruz. RRM is currently preparing construction documents for phase 2 which will connect to the city’s iconic Boardwalk. Phase 1 runs through the City of Santa Cruz and includes twelve (12) at-grade trail crossings, pedestrian and bike bridges, extensive retaining walls, and flood control facilities.
