North Montclair Median Design

RRM Design Group worked with Montclair to revive a series of median islands in the North Montclair area surrounding the local Mall. The goal of the design program was to develop unique and interesting medians that have an image of regional magnitude. Simply updating the medians was not enough. RRM looked at ways to use the medians to establish an identity for the City as a place where people live and businesses can thrive. By using materials and imagery not previously seen in median design, RRM and the City jointly decided to make the commitment to a street scene which serves as “placemaker” for North Montclair.
