American Canyon Watson Ranch Contract Planning

The City of American Canyon retained RRM Design Group to serve as an extension of planning staff to process discretionary development applications such as general plan amendments, zone changes, development agreements specific plans, use permits, design review, variances, and tentative subdivision maps. Currently, RRM is managing an application for an approximately 300-acre specific plan to accommodate a town center, residential (a mix of densities), public parks, and an elementary school. Project challenges include incorporation of existing industrial ruins, circulation and access, and infrastructure capacity. To address projects, a 13-member steering committee has been formed to ensure the project addresses the interests of the community and complies with the City’s development policies and practices. RRM manages the development projects in close coordination with City staff and is responsible for steering committee support and facilitation, staff reports, and presentations.
