Structural Engineering | Designer

RRM Design Group’s San Luis Obispo office is currently seeking a full-time Designer I or Designer II to join our Structural Engineering team! Our growing firm is looking for an individual who is eager to be part of a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team that offers a great balance of professional fulfillment and fun.

RRM Design Group is a 100% employee-owned multi-discipline design firm with a full spectrum of services including architecture, landscape architecture, planning, civil and structural engineering, and surveying. Our offices are located along the California coast from Orange County to the Bay Area. Our professionals work on engaging projects in several diverse markets throughout the state.

This rewarding job involves:

  • Producing accurate CAD work that meets RRM appearance and CAD standards.
  • Coordinate and gather information from engineers and ensure that the information is properly incorporated into the drawings.
  • Knowing the scope and budget available for the tasks assigned and produce work within those constraints.
  • Visit project sites (rarely) for initial site visit and to confirm design issues, monitor construction, etc.


Designer I

  • High School diploma

Designer II

  • High School diploma
  • AutoCAD training
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in drafting in CAD.

Strongly Preferred for Designer II and Designer II

  • AutoCAD software training and CAD training
  • Associates or technical school degree (CAD focus) or equivalent experience/training
