Land Planning and Entitlements

Land Planning is a key first step in the creation of places and communities. From small residential or infill sites to sites with multiple uses and large Master Planned Communities, the Land Plan is the foundation of the vision. RRM excels at this aspect of design. We assure that the plan worked out between the landowner(s), the public agency that may have jurisdiction over the project, and the public is delivered consistent with the vision. How? RRM is a multi-discipline firm bringing the skills of planners, civil engineers, landscape architects and architects into the creation of the vision early in the land planning process truth testing the land planning vision and its real world practicality and efficiency during each step in its evolution.

Entitlement is the  crucial step toward the Land Plan becoming a reality. During the entitlements process many other people become involved in reviewing and trying to understand the Land Plan, some for the first time and without any technical background or development experience. The entitlements process is the crucible where the Land Plan is questioned, tested, and tempered. The knowledge and skill of the team transitions from design to education and communication.

Working with our clients we collaborate to craft a comprehensive strategy designed to assist agency staff in thoroughly understanding the project. We respond to agency questions in a timely manner in an effort to maintain a reasonable schedule for the review process, When appropriate, we work with our client to create a strategic plan for public outreach to garner support and streamline the increasingly complex entitlement  process. RRM’s key services include:
