RRM Design Group is an employee-owned company seeking a full-time Engineer I on our Structural Engineering team. The Engineer I  to assist in project design and detailing, including plans (hand sketches and 2D CAD production), calculations (hand calculations and using computer analysis tools), specifications, and estimates, with direction from senior staff.

As an Engineer I you will have the opportunity to dive into a diverse world of project design that spans the entire spectrum of structural engineering. You’ll have the chance to work on projects of all sizes, from cozy single-family residences to expansive multifamily and affordable/workforce housing complexes. Our portfolio also includes a wide range of opportunities, from minor tenant improvement renovations to the grandeur of crafting new commercial or institutional buildings. You’ll be part of breathing new life into existing structures and contributing to the innovative design of education facilities. Our projects showcase your ability to work with various construction materials, seamlessly transitioning from wood to masonry, and from steel to concrete. Whether it’s a public project or a private endeavor, your journey as an entry-level structural engineer starts here, where exciting challenges await you.

Your role looks like:
  • Assisting with a comprehensive set of building and/or component calculations tailored to the project type and jurisdiction.
  • Creating, editing, and modifying structural plans, drawings, and details; helping produce a complete set of construction documents utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Assisting in helping submit plans and drawings to the agency having jurisdiction and responding to plan review comments under the direction of senior staff.
  • Performing structural analysis for both lateral (wind and seismic) and gravity systems for buildings comprised of steel, concrete, wood, or masonry
  • • Providing project design (e.g. drawing, detailing, specifications, calculations, processing, plans, estimates) under the direction of a senior staff member
  • Upholding RRM’s high standards of quality.
What you’ll bring to the table:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration
  • Current knowledge of professional standards, computer applications, and trends
Above & Beyond:
  • Some work experience in architecture, engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, or planning firm
  • E.I.T. Certification is strongly preferred
  • Experience in AutoCAD and CAD

COMPENSATION:

The hiring range for this role is targeted at $32.13 – $36.28 per hour depending on skills and experience.
