Mountain Springs Community Plan
RRM Design Group prepared the Mountain Springs Community Plan for a new community designated under the Tuolumne County General Plan. The Plan encompasses approximately 1,100 acres and surrounds the existing Mountain Springs Golf Course. The Plan addresses land use, circulation, public parks and open space, and environmental issues. The Plan concept includes the creation of a central community village with retail commercial and services for the future Mountain Springs residents (897 residential units proposed, 117 of which are affordable housing). The residential uses in the Plan include a full range of densities that respect the physical conditions on the site and concentrate higher density uses in or near the Village Center. The Plan also includes over 500 acres of open space with improved park areas and natural riparian areas. The open space system is primarily contiguous with a proposed trail network linking the various areas of the Community Plan through the open space corridors.
