Claremont: Revisited
When we arrived in the late afternoon, we strolled along the new upscale shops along the west side of Indian Hill Boulevard, then turned into a public plaza abutting the street that served as the forecourt of the five-screen Laemmle movie theater. As dusk came, we headed toward the restored historic 50,000 square foot packing house to find a thriving mix of restaurants, galleries and shops. Across the way was a new small scale inn and further to the west down the tree-lined street was a well-manicured cluster of contiguous townhomes. We enjoyed a great dinner in one of the packing house restaurants, and remarked how vibrant and vital the area had become.
