Riverside EOC/Training Center
With its $24 million Measure “G” Fire Bond, the City of Riverside selected RRM Design Group to provide design through construction administration for three neighborhood prototypical fire stations, a new main fire station in Riverside’s historic Downtown, and a new 6.5 acre citywide EOC/Training Center. The 11,000 sf EOC/Training Center Administration/Classroom building contains a permanent EOC, a training classroom, a full event EOC overflow room, offices, policy rooms, a rumor control room, a radio room, and support spaces. A two-story, 3,000 sf, burn building with four distinct faces will be included and a remote training storage building and outdoor classroom are anticipated. Site components include USAR props/rubble pile, a renovated training tower and drafting pit, railroad and truck props, an extrication/FLAG area, and a driving course street system with alley/cul-de-sacs/dead-end streets. This $8 million EOC/Training Center project is an essential facility and must meet stringent code requirements and FEMA guidelines. The facility was completed through construction in late 2007.
