Santa Rosa Skate Park
RRM Design Group along with skate park consultant Wormhoudt Inc. worked with the City of San Luis Obispo and the local Skate Park Committee to develop a 15,000-square-foot in-ground concrete park. Recognizing that the skate park was only one component of the overall recreational experience within the Santa Rosa Park, RRM shaped the skate park into a flexible, mulit-use facility that the entire community could enjoy. Some of the key design features include; flexible plaza space designed to accommodate vendors, events, and bleacher seating, a raised platform that could be used as a stage with an informal amphitheater for awards ceremonies, music, or movies in the park, a perimeter walk with built-in seating, and an entry feature designed to incorporate public art to express the skate culture. The City Council approved the plan in January, 2009
