Ojai Arcade Plaza Design Guidelines

RRM Design Group prepared comprehensive Design Guidelines for buildings that face onto the Ojai Arcade Plaza, helping to rejuvenate an aging Plaza into a vibrant public place in the heart of downtown Ojai. These Guidelines address both improvements of existing property and new structures. Through an extensive public outreach process, RRM discovered that the community wanted these historic Plaza buildings to embrace the Mission Revival architectural character prevalent throughout downtown Ojai. Using text, graphics, color photos, and before/after improvement examples, the document thus outlines a cohesive Mission Revival design theme, describing character, building mass, roof forms, doors, windows, entries, arcades, materials, ornamentation, and site furniture.
