After creating the Urban Design Plan for the City of Buellton, the City retained RRM Design Group to implement the Plan’s first phase of work-streetscape enhancement. Located around the corner of Highway 246 and the Avenue of Flags, this streetscape enhancement project included a downtown entry monument, as well as the re-landscaping of the Avenue of Flags first median. To create a pedestrian-friendly and attractive environment, RRM added planting and irrigation features, decorative paving, stone walls, street and pedestrian lights, and matching street furniture. RRM also collaborated with the City’s redevelopment consultant to work with adjacent property and business owners to ensure a seamless transition between the public and private right-of-ways.
