Varian Ranch Ag Cluster Community
San Luis Obispo, CA
As pioneers of the planning efforts aimed at preserving San Luis Obispo County's valuable agricultural resources, RRM Design Group created the land plan, the entry design, and the architectural design for the Varian Ranch community and equestrian centers in accordance with the San Luis Obispo County Agricultural Clustering Ordinance.
A 48-unit residential cluster development carefully sited on less than 60 acres of the 3,127 acre property, the project preserves the agricultural use of the ranch while providing enhanced agricultural operations (using capital generated by the residential development). The undeveloped 3,067 acres of ranch property was placed into an agricultural preserve and a perpetual open space easement.
