Old Bank District Streetscape Design Guidelines

The City of Los Angeles and its grassroots steering committee of downtown resident "Urban Pioneers" selected RRM Design Group to provide streetscape design guidelines for its Old Bank District. The design catalyzes a long-awaited District transformation from abandoned offices, derelict buildings, and overall neglect, to a rebirth of urban living, fueled by live-work lofts (5,000 units), pedestrian paseos, urban parks, street furniture, street trees, landscaping, and a unique suspended lighting system harkening back to the district’s origin as the financial center of the West Coast in the early 20th century. The design guidelines create a template for a walkable streetscape that promotes safety while providing vibrant revitalization.
