Oakdale Plaza

RRM Design Group designed the Oakdale Downtown Plaza, a 1.5 acre public open space that fronts the City's new 15,000 sf Community Center (also an RRM project).

With an orderly grid of shade trees and brick paving bands, the Plaza’s design reflects the surrounding area’s agricultural history with a scene reminiscent of an orchard. The Plaza’s primary features include a performance stage anchoring one corner, abundant seating on planter/seat walls and benches under the orchard shade, and a central at-grade water feature.

A vital pedestrian connection between office and retail areas, the Plaza, together with the Community Center, serves as the downtown focal point and gathering spot for the City, an ideal locale for holding arts and craft fairs, music festivals, and farmer's markets. Additionally, RRM designed an adjacent parking lot that can provide additional space as an extension of the Plaza for these activities and other community events.
