Barton Heliport Remodel and Expansion

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department has contracted with RRM to provide the design and engineering services for the Barton Heliport Expansion Plan. To meet the increasing needs of the County's new Firehawk Helicopter Program, the existing facilities required substantial upgrades, modifications, and additions. In 2003, a needs assessment was performed and 3 alternatives were submitted. RRM's role is to prepare a site assessment and re-visit the needs assessment, as the County has added additional Firehawk helicopters to its fleet. Based on the new information, RRM will determine the appropriate landing patterns, hanger building size, additional shops, offices, locker areas, and personnel areas which are then to be designed by RRM in keeping with the total Barton Heliport Expansion Plan.
