Village at Broad Street Mixed-Use

Rick Moses Development retained RRM Design Group to provide architectural design, planning, landscape architecture and civil engineering for the Village at Broad mixed-use project. RRM created a mixed-use village with retail, restaurants, office, and residential capacities. There is 34,000 sf of commercial lease space and 74 residential apartments - with private residential garages, a community building and pool - on an approximately six acre site. Sustaintainablity features such as higher insulation values, cool roof systems, low-e glazing, low-water use fixtures and high-efficient mechanical systems were also incorporated into the village design as a key component. The plan fosters a sense of community by placing the residential parking lots and garages behind the buildings to encourage walking; while the "heart of the village" has a large heritage tree in the middle of a round-a-bout surrounded by retail, restaurants, outdoor seating, and public art.
